Just another thought...

I woke up this morning and went to the Rec center again...however...when I got home I didn't have the "ME" time I wanted...I got in the shower...and Ryan was up, thinking it was 7:30 instead of 7...then Klous & Aysha were up...and there goes the time. :( It was hard...I was frustrated...Klous had woken up and had a bad dream during the night, so was in our bed...which means when he woke up and was PEED SOAKEN...it was MY bed he peed in :( I was SO annoyed...SO frustrated...SO bugged...and it was only 7:30 in the morning...I wanted to scream, I wanted to cry, I'm so sick of doing laundry every single morning. UGH....
Anyways...I knew I needed to just keep going with my plans and desires to improve...so I couldn't just let those feelings consume me and upset me. So I looked online for a talk to read this morning and found THIS talk...it was what I needed...especially this paragraph and quote out of it!!! Hope you enjoy it as well!!!

"...So it is with kindness. Nothing will bring the Spirit of the Lord into your meetings, your homes, and your personal associations more quickly than showing kindness. “Charity … is kind” (1 Cor. 13:4). Kindness should be right at the top of everyone’s list of things to do. Write it down every day: “Be kind.” Kindness comes in many different packages. Be thoughtful to your neighbors. Be patient in a crowd. Be considerate of your children and your husband. Be honest with your sisters. Trust them and they will trust you. Go out and bring them into this grand circle of sisters we call Relief Society. As we increase our kindness, we add charity to our storehouse and we are strengthened...."

So after reading that...especially the sentence I put in BOLD and italics...I guess it would do me some good to change my attitude and find some consideration...some love...and some kindness for my little man Klous...he didn't mean to...and only I can choose how to react. So here goes...starting off better then a half hour ago!!!

P.S...anyone have pointers of how to get kids to NOT still pee at night!?!?! We still have to do pull-ups because of this problem...but I don't want it to continue??? Hmmmm???

The peeing at night is a little frustrating. But I've learned a thing or two as we too struggle with this. First thing I learned: a bladder is the last thing on a child that is fully developed, and not usually till around 8 years old. Second; 1 in 5 kids don't produce the hormone that slows urine production during sleep. If your child is one of those he/she will most likely be a deep sleeper and therefore not wake up to the feeling/urges to pee. And finally; bed wetting is a hereditary condition. (usually found in boys) So if you've got brother, cousins, nephews, ect...that struggled with bed wetting chances are your kids will too.

Carter still wears pullups at night, but we can't use any pullup cuz he soaks through them. I found "underjams" and they are wonderful! I tried waking him up at night to get him to go, I've tried these bed wetting tablets that Hylands makes (the people who make teething tablets), we've talked to his doctor about it...I don't know what else there is to do but wait till he grows out of it. (Trent's nephews grew out of it when they were about 12....that's SO long...)

Don't stress about it, just brush it off as something you (and especially he) cannot control. Put him in a pullup at night, and if it's dry in the morning awesome, use it again. If not, then you didn't have to clean sheets (or the bed)

Carter often asks when he won't have to wear a pullup at night, as Hanna doesn't. We just tell him his body is still learning how to be dry at night and one day it will finally get it.

Hope that's helpful! Good for you for getting up early to go to the gym! I wish I could drag myself out of bed some days to do anything before 8am...maybe when baby is sleeping through the night right :)

I was always really careful to not let my kids have any liquids after about 7:00, and then triple-check that they peed the very last thing before getting into bed. Then, when I went to bed, I'd get up the possible peer and make him/her go again. That seemed to help eventually!

Justin has the problem occasionally still, and I have just recently discovered that it is mostly because he is too scared/cold to get up and go, so he just lays there and pees. Of course then he gets up to change OUT of the peed clothes(goofy kid). Have a night light in the hall and in the bathroom, and make sure he is wearing warm jammies:) Also, stop liquids 1hr before bed. For future kids... I have discovered that the thru the night works best if you do that first- even before the day time stuff. Audrey NEVER pees at night, and it is because when I first started her, it was the last thing we did at night and the first thing we did in the morning or any time she woke up in the night, so she learned to recognize that.:) Put some pads down on his bed and let him pee the bed a few times. I'm sure with him, he won't like that, and will learn to recognize it quickly! Good luck!
